About
About Anxiety Help
What Is Anxiety Help?
An independent, plain-language guide to finding mental health care you can afford in the United States. Its finder lists 12,467 mental health facilities from SAMHSA's FindTreatment.gov across 55 states and territories, checked October 5, 2026, and you can filter by what you can pay, the type of care, the therapy offered and who a facility serves. Anxiety Help is not a provider, a crisis service or a referral service, and no facility pays to be listed.
Need Help Right Now?
If you're thinking about suicide, or you're in crisis and need to talk, call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is free, confidential and open 24/7. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For free help finding mental health or substance use treatment, call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357, any time, in English or Spanish.
Who This Site Is for
People looking for mental health care for themselves, and the parents, partners and friends helping them look. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, grief or something you can't name yet. Maybe you know you want therapy but don't know what it costs, whether Medicaid covers it, or where to find a clinic with a sliding fee. The pages here answer those questions directly and link the official place to check each one.
The site is named for anxiety because that's where many people start. It covers mental health care of every kind.
What You'll Find Here
- A mental health facility finder covering 12,467 facilities, searchable by ZIP code or city. Filter by payment (10,558 accept Medicaid and 5,770 offer a sliding fee or payment assistance), type of care, therapy approach (CBT, DBT, EMDR), crisis services and who a facility serves, such as children and teens, veterans or people with PTSD.
- State pages for 55 states and territories, each with its Medicaid mental health coverage, crisis lines, state mental health agency and license lookups, plus city pages for 4,356 cities with listed facilities.
- 29 plain-language guides across 4 topics (Finding a Therapist For, Affordable Care and Coverage, Types of Therapy, Getting Started), built from SAMHSA, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), CMS and state agencies.
- 3 free tools: Mental Health Care Finder, Low-Cost Care Checker, Crisis Line Finder. They run in your browser and send nothing to the site.
Every facility detail is what that facility reported to SAMHSA. The How We Research page explains where each fact comes from and what each filter means.
What This Site Is Not
Anxiety Help is a private website. It is not run by, connected to or endorsed by SAMHSA or any other part of government. It isn't a therapist, clinic or crisis line, and it doesn't run an intake line, match you with a provider or pass your details to anyone.
The phone number on a facility listing is the facility's own number as SAMHSA publishes it, so when you call, you reach the facility directly. The only other numbers on the site are free public lines: 988, 911 and SAMHSA's National Helpline.
The site gives information, not medical advice, and reading it doesn't create a therapist-client relationship. It doesn't diagnose, offer screening quizzes or tell you which treatment or medication is right for you. Those are decisions to make with a licensed clinician who can talk with you about what's going on.
Who Writes and Checks These Pages
Pages are researched, written and checked by the Anxiety Help Editorial Team. Every fact on a page is recorded with the official source it came from and the date it was checked, and automated checks confirm that figures trace back to those records before a page is published. The How We Research page sets out which sources are used and which never are.
The editorial team is not a clinical team, and pages aren't clinical advice. For decisions about your own care, talk with a doctor, therapist or other licensed clinician. SAMHSA's helpline at 1-800-662-4357 can help you find one.
Who Publishes the Site
Anxiety Help is published by Rupe Enterprises LLC, a Washington company. If you typed depression.help, you've landed in the right place: that address leads here too.
Other Sites From Our Publisher
Rupe Enterprises LLC also publishes these related sites. Pages here link to them only where they answer a question this site doesn't.
- rehab.help: addiction treatment and rehab, state by state
- disability.help: disability benefits, including for anxiety, depression and PTSD
How the Site Is Paid for
The site is free to use. It is paid for by display ads from Google AdSense, each marked by Google's own ad label. Ads never appear inside or between facility listings, and no advertiser has a say in what a page says. Facilities can't pay to be listed, ranked or featured, and the site has no affiliate links or online-therapy offers. If a paid offer is ever added, it will be labelled "Sponsored" and kept away from the listings. The advertising disclosure has the details.
How Pages Are Checked and Corrected
The editorial policy sets out the standards every page meets. If a guide or state page looks wrong, send a correction through the contact form with the page and, if you can, the official source that shows the right detail. If a facility's own listing is wrong, the fix goes through SAMHSA, and the How We Research page explains how.
You can also search SAMHSA's own directory at FindTreatment.gov.
